Marqués de Riscal is one of the oldest wineries in La Rioja. Founded in Elciego (Alava) in 1858, it has been a reference in the wine sector at national and international level from the beginning. In 2013, it was elected the best European vineyard by Wine Enthusiast magazine.
Finca Torrea Red 2016 is an elegant and fresh wine, modern in style with a very current profile, more fruity and less grassy, with a shorter aging in barrel and bottle. This is a different style from the wines that Marqués de Riscal have traditionally made.
To the eye, its color is very lively and deep cherry red, and it has intense aromas revealing red and black fruits, ripe strawberries, which mingle with balsamic notes from aging in oak French barrels. In the mouth, it feels like an explosion of fruit, and it has a very pleasant finish with spicy and mineral notes.
