The Castello del Trebbio sits among the green Tuscan hills. The castle, built before the 12th century, is linked to the history of the Pazzi, a wealthy family of bankers from the Florentine Renaissance. In 1968, the Baj Macario family purchased the castle and surrounding land, turning a testament to history into the thriving wine and agro-tourism business it is today.
As is the case with all the wines of this famous Tuscan DOCG, the Chianti del Castello del Trebbio has the most striking characteristics: fruity, fresh and pleasant to drink. To the eye, it has a deep ruby red color with attractive aromas of small red berries, hints of flowers and spices. Medium bodied and well balanced with velvety tannins. It is a balanced, woody wine with notes of red fruits and black fruits.
