Quinta do Meiral, in central Portugal, is the headquarters of Licor Beirão and also the property and home of the Redondo family, owners of the brand for over 70 years.
Its production began in the 19th century, in the town of Lousã, based on several plants - including mint, cinnamon, rosemary, lavender and cardamom - and aromatic seeds, subjected to a double distillation process. The resulting product has a transparent topaz shade with a sweet taste.
To the eye, it has an amber yellow color. On the nose it is delicate, but absorbing, with notes of eucalyptus. On the palate, it has notes of rosemary and orange, as well as a variety of spices where cinnamon and cardamom stand out.
