Quinta do Vallado, founded in 1716, is one of the oldest and most famous estates in the Douro Valley. It is located on the banks of the Corgo River, a tributary of the Douro River. The Quinta belonged to the legendary Dona Antónia Adelaide Ferreira and remains in the hands of her descendants to this day.
The Port wine Vallado ABF 1888 was bottled in 2016, to commemorate the 300 years of Quinta do Vallado.
On the eye, this Port has a color reminiscent of mahogany, with greenish nuances, clear and obvious proof of the age of the wine. The aroma is complex and rich, full of nuances of dried fruits, vinegar, iodine and spices. The mouth confirms the freshness promised by the nose. Although the wine is very rich, silky, concentrated and dense, it finishes with an acidity combining a perfect harmony, which gives it an explosive and almost endless finish.
