Nestled between the Ria de Alvor and the Serra de Monchique, Villa Alvor has all the characteristics of the famous estates of Provence: perfectly balanced soils and a particular microclimate, cooler and protected from the scorching sun, typical of hot Mediterranean climates. The vines are planted in limestone soils similar to the great terroirs of Burgundy and Provence.
An unusual approach to Alicante Bouschet which, in the Algarve terroir, expresses a velvety and juicy texture. Bold aromas of cherry and dark plum are enveloped in a smooth, sweet smokiness. Notes of tobacco and black pepper complete the velvety structure, resulting in a complex and fleshy wine.
